soft spots on H20 hulls

I own a H20. I've developed some soft spots on the top of the hulls. It was suggested to me to cut a circular hole into the side (inside-unseen) of the boat and lay a new layer of fiberglass and resin. Anyone tackle this problem and how. Successful and lasting? Thx!

Drill through the first layer of fiberglass and the foam in a circle around the soft spot usning a small drill bit. Make a hole large enough to get a sarynge full of epoxy in the middle and force it in until is flows out the outer holes. Tape off the holes that have expoxy flowing from them untill all do. Tape off center hole. Let dry. Complete repair with sanding and gel coat.

Thx for the reply. I believe the H20 doesn't have foam filled hulls, correct? If it doesn't is your method still possible? Thx.

The hulls are foam sandwich construction, there's a seam at the bottom (keel) which leads people to believe they're not

Foam filled hulls and foam sandwich are two completely different things. Foam filled usually means foam for emergency floatation purposes inside the cavity of the hollow hulls, foam sandwich is a laminar combination that is less than a half inch thick, ~ gelcoat / fiberglass / foam board / fiberglass . I don't know if I needed to post this but it seemed that there was some confusion setting in.
