I have an 82 Hobie 16 and the dolphin striker post comes up into the mast step. I noticed this after my mast pivot bearings were getting holes in them. Can I fix this or what parts do I need to correct this problem.

Sound like you need a new mast step. It is an easy job if you have a good drill and rivet gun to pull stainless rivets. See you local dealer if you need help.
