Hey - I took the boat out on Saturday and noticed that after some time sailing the mast seemed to be rocking back and forth slightly in the stepper. This was especially noticeable after I'd lowered the sails and the boat was rocking with incoming waves. Does this mean I need to tighten the shrounds? Or is it normal. Thanks!

I would adjust the forstay and the shrouds and see what happens.

It's an H16. I don't know the year. I just installed a new mast base on it that's black andonized metal, and it fits into the old stepper.

Unless the jib is up and tensioned the 16 rig will always have some slop in it.
