I will ask if I need a dolphin striker on my HC14 when i sailing with trapets? and where can I get it? I had have the boat for four weeks. :roll: vgh pah60

Yes, you must have a dolphin striker when sailing a 14 with a trapeze.

Where are you located? (English is obviously not your first language.) That will determine where you can get a dolphin striker.

yes I am from sweden and I have speak to hobie shop in Stockholm but they have only strikers to hc 16. can I built a striker my self? or buy some els? vgh pah60

A Hobie 16 dolphin striker is too long for a 14, although you could probably use the post (center vertical bar).

A Hobie 17 dolphin striker can be adapted to a 14 - it is the correct length and you just need to bend the ends of the rod a bit and cut off part of the post.

However, to install these on an old 14, you will also need to replace the mast step, since the post threads into it and the original 14 step does not have a threaded hole for it.

What you need is the retro-fit kit:
