I've always liked the Marfolli Swiftcord since I first saw it on Robbie Danials Tornado ... but it has always been expensive. ( I think origonally it was something like $4.00/ft!!! ) I ordered some Yale: Conception line last year for my mainsheet .... it is about 1/2 the price of the Swiftcord and is basically the same type of line. I've been VERY happy w/ the Yale line.

Note that the Yale : Conception line "runs large" ... I am using 5/16" for my mainsheet and 1/4" for my jib sheet. Feels REALLY nice on the hands ... just soak it in water w/ baking soda every so often to make the line soft again and remove "salts". Also remember that these lines are more susceptable to UV damage, so I would try and store the lines away between sailings.

Spinlock on the Main
I've used one on the Main for the past 5 years. It's one of the first things I do to my new boat. I absolutely love the thing.

Ironically, all of the reasons Caleb gave for not using it are the reasons I'm sold on using it. It never fails to release. And it's very responsive.
I have to find the sweet spot on the angle upon first installation. But then it's just a subtle change in angle for me to cleat or release.

:P OK Don, If you show up for the Work Party at Sail Sand Point this Sunday, I will give you my Spinlock. Better to put it to use, than to have it sit in my tool box.

Caleb
