I'm assuming you're talking about renewing your membership for the Hobie Class Association, have you tried contacting anybody from the organization?

Here's a link for HCA contact info:

I have been assured that the problems have been resolved.
Hope it is smooth for everyone, remember: We got a killer raffle for paid members for this spring.

No, its better than that. Our membership chair came up with the idea to enter registered/paid members in to a couple different drawings early this year to win a new Hobie Harness. The Eblast from Rich McVeigh on 1/6 spells it out pretty clearly, otherwise contact Mike Levesque.
Just trying to find ways to get people hooked up early!

From the Jan 2009 eblast:

ANNOUNCING SOME MEMBERSHIP DRIVES FOR 2009…

It’s time to renew your HCA membership for 2009. We want to encourage EARLY renewals this year, to minimize the early- and mid-season scrambles. So, we’ve come up with some extra incentives!

First, we will be having a special series of raffles. We will be drawing for prizes based on paid memberships at the end of January, February and March. You will have up to three chances to win a new harness for your Hobie. Here’s how this will work:

Memberships paid online, or postmarked by 1/31/09, will be eligible for the first harness raffle, AND the subsequent raffles on 2/28/09 and 3/31/09. Join early, get THREE chances to win!!!
Memberships paid online, or postmarked by 2/28/09, will be eligible for the second harness raffle, AND the subsequent raffle on 3/31/09. So, you’d have TWO chances to win!!
Memberships paid online, or postmarked by 3/31/09, will be eligible for the final harness raffle.
Later in the year, we will be having a Divisional contest. We want to see which Divisions can grow the most, and who can be the biggest overall. Details of this will follow, but the only way you can win is to pay your dues, and get lots of others to do the same!

What about people like myself who registered for 2009 in December, maybe we should get double the chances to win

Seriously thou I think the HCA should borrow an idea from the laser class, where they give you the option of signing up for two years( at a slight reduction in price)

That's not a bad idea, send your ideas to the membership chair.

I went to the HCA site and saw no reason for a Getaway owner to join. Can someone give me a reason? Do you at least get a burgee or something?

As for two year memberships; they can cause cash flow problems if an association has regular expenses. Front loading income can create real problems later.
