looking for tips with righting bag

A friend and I intentionally flipped the boat close to shore to try to get familiar with a righting bag. It seemed like more trouble than it was worth. One problem was keeping the bag from collapsing in the water and only partially filling. Another problem is the filled bag wants to pendulum inboard minimizing its leverage. Not sure where the best place is to hang the block either. Any tips from frequent bag users would be appreciated.

Sunvista - I've only used mine once, but it worked great. It's not fun to use, but when you're 160 lbs. sailing singlehanded you don't have much choice. Pendulum inboard??? Yeah. That's why you have the bag behind you and lean back and sheet in as the boat comes up. The line is tied to the dolphin striker and goes over the hull which is out of the water. As your boat comes up the line and bag will no longer want to pendulum inboard. It'll be straight down from the hull which is out of the water. About that time the boat will continue to come over and you'll free yourself from the bag and grab the dolphin striker so the boat doesn't continue to flip over onto the other side.
Filling the bag with water... I didn't have any problems. I have the Murrays Cat Righting Bag. It's larger and fairly stiff. It's the perfect size. I'm not familiar with the Hobie Bag which I'm told is smaller.
Using the bag is easy. Sorting out the blocks and line is a bit of a pain. I always use my righting line when I sail with a crew and have more weight. It's quick and easy to use. I have both tied to the dolphin striker ready to use when necessary.
Where to hang the block..... Think of the righting bag as a system which has three components: Short righting line; two blocke with a line; and righting bag. The short righting line is attached to the dolphin striker. The line and the block that can be cleated is attached to the righting line. The other block is attached to the bag.

Being that I tip over virtually every time my boat is floating, and can not get it up in less than a hurricane wind with out the bag....

I don't have the style that uses a block to lift it up. I have the smaller 85# ,(I think) model. I tied a loop in it that I hook onto my harness. That way I can lean back and get as much of my body weight involved as possible. When I get the bag mostly full, it takes a while of pulling it back and forth, I just hoist it over my shoulder. Then wait, and wait, and wait, and finally she comes up.

My only gripe with the loop being tied in the line is that it i can be very difficult to get back on the boat at the same time as it comes up.
