One simple inexspensive thing Hobie could do is send everyone a Hobie H sticker that says "ask me about my Hobie". There arent many things i like talking about more than sailing and i could sell alot of Hobies for you. I would put that on my back window in a heartbeat! And it would be cool when you were driving down the road to see other Hobie guys. Just an idea.

The 16 will and should outlast us all, and as long as Hobie has not cut up the moulds for the 18...then put it back in production, only make what you can sell and market the boat for what it is, the best all around family racer and pleasure sailboat ever built.

Done...

I put a Hobie Cat "Tequila Sunrise" emblem on my car about six weeks a go and I have already had four people ask me If I had a Hobie and where they could sail. It's really cool. I LOVE Hobie's!!

Different strokes for different folks.

Matt, did you sell your Tiger?

Over a year ago now. Dave Lee in Portage / Austin Lake owns it now. I was going broke keeping four boats in race tune. I also really didn't have the space to store them properly. One winter, I had all four boats and two cars in my 3-car garage. 3 of the boats were fully assembled.

I wonder if we have gotten off the original subject somewhat, but I wish Hobie U.S. would embrace the new Wildcat for the U.S. market and manufacture that boat in the U.S. at a more affordable price. The new Wildcat seems to be my boat choice for the future for a fast and fun sailing time. Now if I sell my two 16's and my pride and joy 21'SE and stash back some cash, then I would want this new and improved boat of the future. You have to admit it,it looks fast and hot and desirable..............I have enjoyed sailing since the early 70's and welcome this change that Hobie Europe has introduced.
When you seek something different, look forward..........

I agree with this and would even buy it if available....I am also a new Hobie owner and love to talk about any sailing but more like to discuss catamaran sailing and even more Hobie sailing. Every single time I am rigging the boat, resting on the beach, or derigging the boat people ask questions. A lot say they used to sail Hobies and a lot ask how to get into it. Also, what is amazing is almost all people call any catamarans, Hobie catamarans whether I have the Tornado out or the 21SE.

As the saying goes "the two happiest days of your life are when you buy your boat and when you sell your boat." Selling your 21SE would be the saddest day of your life and NO other boat will equal the versatility and overall performance of that boat......

:) Spesce, we always enjoy seeing your Hobie 21 out on Lake Washington. Feel free to remind the people with questiions, about our fine sailing program at Sail Sand Point, http://www.sailsandpoint.org and the Hobie Cat dealer, Hobie Cats Northwest in the building right next to where you launch and sail your Cat. We have six H-16's and six Waves, two brand new, in our programs at SSP.

I tell everyone about SSP, especially if they have kids or have never been sailing. This is a great program and hopefully I will be able to come to some regattas this year along with the fun sail events now that I have my boat tuned and new crew knowing what a sheet, outhaul and downhaul is along with comfortable trapezeing. I wish I could pull my boat out of the water easily with two people and I would store it mast up at SSP, but we can car launch fairly fast, i.e. under 45 minutes.

The Stark project intrigued me in that I thought it would be awesome if you could relax on the circular tramp with backrests and this would rotate on jibes or tacks. That would be cool. My wings would still keep you drier though. Artists and architects think out of the box and the engineers reign them back down to reality.
