I was going to wait before I posted this, but considering the circumstances...

This is a copy of the graphics I'm having made for my boat, and should be installed next week (hopefully)

It kind of fits the moment...

Thanks Karl, I'll pass the kudo's on to my wife who drew it up.

TexKat, of course it'll make the boat go faster...and it'll jump higher too! Just like a new pair of KEDS.

Rockets...

Just trying to inject some levity into a potentially serious scenario. Hobies and hurricanes normally don't mix well together...especially with high storm surges and high winds. Cutting through the air straight on at freeway speeds is not the same as taking it broadside to the boat. Hopefully you've got good tie downs and maybe some higher ground?

Good luck.

Thanks Tigerboy, the problem is I live in Florida and there is no such thing as high ground! :) I'm at sea level plus 3 feet! I strapped the boat down to it's perch, but had I known the forecasters were going to be so far off the mark, I would have done a few more things to prepare.

The worst part of living on the water is I can never find enough time to go sailing.

Keds! I haven't seen any in years either, but it looks like their still in bid'ness http://www.keds.com/index.jsp

You're right! And the TV commercials showed the kid hurdling over his wagon on a run, while the little girl and the shaggy dog watched in amazement! So ALL the cool kids wore them.

But alas, by the time we got to Junior High, they were replaced by "Chucks" (Converse All-Stars, endorsed by Chuck Taylor on the heal).

I hate to say this, but I've never heard of Red Ball Jets. Not to say you're wrong, I just have no recollection of them at all. Could be that age thing where the memory is the first to go.......

But then again, I found this...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Op3uz24dqXw

Maybe there wre multiple compaines making the same claim in different markets.

Hey, I see my favorite storm is sitting over the top of Panama Beach right now. Brad, I hope it moves faster for you than it did us. Today is the first day I've seen a partial blue sky in about a week. We still have standing water in many places.

You are correct! A Kansas boy understands the evolution of shoes from basketball history through the decades. UK Wildcat here understands it clearly! Congrats on ncaa title this past year btw.

And a Hoosier (?) to boot would know it for the same reason stated above.
