Thanks for this post. I thought it was just me. My hands cramp occasionally after sailing the past few years. I'm 65. It's a little annoying, but I don't plan on doing anything about it.

I just noticed the thread...and wish to add my "Thanks" as well on the topic. I also cramp, am 62, do the triathalon's, etc. etc.

For me, I believe cramping is a grip strenth issue. I am working on it with a trainer...and building grip and wrist strength is difficult work for me. But, it is needed to reduce the pain and the funny-looking Spock-Vulcan finger contortions I come up with.

I have notice that my left wrist is hurting (not really cramping, just sore) more and more over the last few sails. This weekend, I tried handeling the sheet with a reverse (to me) grip, with my thumb and forefinger towards me instead of the block. It took a bit of work to get used to it, but really made a difference. the pain is less and I actually seemed to have better control for trimming. Just a thought.
