if you don't trust the comp-tip, eliminate the 18SX from your list

This is a really exciting idea! Catsailor has alot of talk about it, people are excited. The info states 18' -22' beachcats with spins. I have tried twice to run my H18 in the Tybee and both times was shot down because it isn't an F18, curved crossbars. Will it be the same song and dance with this event? Genmar Star and I are both experienced ocean sailors that rarely race at all, especially cans. What type of qualifications will there be? Surely this race will not be limited to Tybee or GT300 veterans only. I want the facts, just the facts! Any limitations or what?

If this goes down I will be looking for a Tiger mast as my comptip will not be suitable for this much spin sailing off shore.

Come on guys, it can't be that bad!!! I'm really interested in it but haven't looked at the details yet. If you sit around, ready to go, and wait for the right conditions it's just a good day sail. If you say, we are going at 6:30 a.m. Nov. 21,2010 then yeah, it's pretty stupid.

I'm thinking three people on a 21 so one can rest off the wire for a while.
