Oh, I should say, I'm old enough to have appreciated ELPs music since the early seventies. The live album with the London Philharmonic stands out in my mind. .... I think that was a live album. Great music from people who could play as was said.
But I also watched Fall Out Boy on Alabama Public TV last night, and they rocked the house. In an hour there was about three minutes of actual guitar picking, the rest was just wailing at it like banshees, but it rocked. Three guitars and a drummer, sorta the crux of rock. Maybe it's still called rock, I can't keep up, I just know it when I hear it.
