that is insane! What i would like to know is how do you flip it without getting wet, i mean you eventually end up falling off! Well at least I do. The only way i can think of it is letting it go over, and then kinda flipping over on the hull as it inverts, but that sounds lame cause my idea is to try and save the thing untill you are no longer on the boat ;-). Maybe im just a hardcore pusher or whatever.

Oh, so do to issues we are going this saturday morning, not friday afternoon (like its a big deal) but i will deffinetly tell u guys about it and myabe even snap a couple pics before and post um. So we are using either wetsuits or drysuits (depending on how cold it is) and the lake has massively filled up in the last week do to all the rain. Oh and the best part is there is a 15 knot predicted wind and it is coming so that we can actually sail the long way down the lake (a nice 2.5 mile long reach!) im so stoked! :o :D

Oh, so i make sure ive got everything straight from all your guys' awesome posts let me go over this stuff quick.

Heavy wind sailing do's:

Warm clothing (well thats a duh!)
Aft mast rake
travel out
move jib (shoot what are they called? i want to say... arg!) track thingies outboard
tighten downhaul as much as possible (what is the exact rigging for a downhaul by the way, i don't think ours is right)
loose battons

Alright i think that is all. Thanks again guys for all the help. I know my buddy and I are going to have awesome fun and great practice saturday morning! Thanks a lot!

TJ,

You will have a blast. Those jib thingy's are called jib cars or travelers.

The downhaul should be rigged per the following:

Tie your downhaul line to the ring on the bottom of the gooseneck (the connection device between you boom and mast). I then ran it down to the cleat on the mast track and fed it through the center "eye" of the cleat. Next I fed it back up to the gooseneck ring. Then back down towards the aforementioned cleat. This is when you can crank on the downhaul. When you are done just cleat it off like you would any other line. This will give you a good 2:1 purchase. Fine for adjusting on the beach. Until you get to the point where you want to start adjusting the downhaul while under sail this system will work just fine.

If you need me to clarify anything, let me know.
