It's hard to see super thin profiles with a long tele.

The composition of this one didn't totally work out either.

Here's a good shot of a 20, courtesy of Jeremy.

To Jeremy: Where's that photo sequence of the start of the Kick Off 2009 of a 20 capsizing at the start? How about using that?

This is a terrible photo. The subject is out of focus, off center, and there some huge something-or-other (the thing with the word "Harken" on it) getting in the way.

Erase the fence. You don't have to be a photo shop guru to pull that off.

It's easier to find a better picture w/o having to spend time fixing one.

And it does take some time/skill to fix that so it looks good at 300 DPI. (It's easy to do for the screen at 72 DPI.)

Yes I think we need a few scantily clad girls sitting on the boats, well at least one would be nice

OK, photo finders, here are some criteria:

1) Photo should be at least 3300 x 2550 pixels (that's about 8 megapixels). I can work with lower res, but it doesn't look as good when it's printed. 1600 x 1067 is about as low as you can go (that's 150 DPI printed 8.5" x 11")

2) Photo needs to have two of the following:
- Faces (boat pictures are boring - people want to see the people)
- Spray (it's the only thing that conveys motion in a still photo)
- Context (what's going on? - like the Golden Gate Bridge in the Tiger photo, or the signal boat in the start photo at Mohave)

3) Spread the love. There's 13 photos and 8 classes (Wave, 14, 16, 17, 18, 20 Tiger, Wildcat).

Now go to it!

That shot of the 20 was me and Danny at Kick Off Regatta courtesy of jeremy at Surf City... We raced starting at the mile buoy out into the swell in the late afternoon!

The Hobie 20 flipping (Steve Reese) sequence is from the start of Div 3 2009 Kick Off regatta and is posted on Adam Borcherding's smugmug pictures.
