I went there for a semester after high school. I'm finishing up at State now.

I keep my boat at Aqualand. I don't know how much sailing will be done there this winter, all ramps to the lake are closed...but you're on a 16 all you need is 5 feet of water and you can go anywhere :)

Not all of the ramps are closed. Tidwell park on the south end is still open. It's a bit muddy though. True, all I need is 5 frt of water but some cat trax would help as well:) I know of a good put in if it comes to that. What do you sail out of aqualand?

I am also a new-to-Hobies sailor on Lanier. I have a house just south of the bridge to Lanier Islands, near Lanier Harbor. If anybody wants to do a bit of sailing (once it warms up a bit), drop me a note on

versteb (at) cisco.com.

Bill,

What type of boat do you have? There is a regatta called Spring Fever about 1 1/2 hours from you on easter weekend. It is a great regatta and there are already 60 boats signed up. Here is a link http://www.twinhulls.com/springfever2008/index.html

If you're interested in Spring Fever i'll be glad to show you the way there and help you get your stuff rigged. I live just south of you down Peachtree Industrial probably 15 minutes.

Hey Atlanta Sailors
Me and some of my windsurfing buddies also own hobie cats. We sail on lanier and down at lake juliette. We were trash talking the other day about who is the fastest and talked about maybe doing a race from van pugh to browns bridge and back one day soon.

if you'll email me and give me your email address i'll keep you posted.
also if you hear of any races please let me know.

my email is [email protected]
