Just get an extension the telescopes out of the existing mast holder. Asmaller diameter tube that will slide up and down. Pin in place with a screw or long quick pin.
Slide down to rig and put on then slide it up to trailer.
Or a Motor boat bow rest works bolted to the existing mast cradle.

Do what I do: Get an Isuzu Amigo, and pull a double stacked rig down the road to the regatta of your choice and stay in a Hotel. Advice: Always bring a gas can with some gas in it. Damn Amigo LOVES to run out.

Love to run out? Seems like standard operating procedure in your case. You ran out twice, on the way to one regatta. Dude!

I ran out on the way to Yankton, on my way to the KC regatta (twice) on the way back from KC in August, on my way to work the other day. I really need to get the gas gauge fixed.

Dude! Its called an tripmeter, fill up, reset, drive. My Dakota gas gauge hasn't worked as long as I've owned it. Ran out of gas once, and that was because I loaned it to a friend and he said he had filled it.

Guys,

At one time I had a car like that .... no working Gas Guage ....

Plan A- I did as Karl says, keep track of the milage on the Trip Odometer.

Then the speedometer broke .....

Plan B- Keep a FULL two gallon gas can in the trunk ... the trick is to pull over at the first UGgggg UGgggg before it goes PFTttttttttt ....

Well, smartass, as you know, the mileage is a bit different when you pulling double stack as opposed to not.
At least I wasn't upside down at A mark 15 times.

Somebody has to add a bit more challenge to a-mark roundings at nationals. Nothing like dodging the wreckage of a H16, a half dozen upright boats, and 20kn winds to make things interesting. Wierd thing is I handled the 20 at Yankton way better than a 16 at Clear Lake. I don't think I capsized once on the 20, and I'd never even been on one.

Weird thing is your 20 at Yankton was tweaked for a hurricane. Your 16 at CL was tweaked for a peak gust of 2.

I thought Karl was adding the "challenge" to the A- Mark Rounding.

Round the Mark, Round Karl, drive down to C,
Round the Mark, Round Karl, Drive down to C.

On the bright side for Karl, he was getting to A- Mark ahead of me.
on the bright side for me, he taught me how NOT to round A-Mark.
:P :D :)

I was one of the very few that consistently had to round "Karl The Offset Mark"
If it hadn't been for Karl, I'd have finished 3 places higher :P
Of course if he hadn't flipped so dang much, I'd have probably finished 1 place lower, so I really shouldn't complain too much.

( It's always easier to kick a man when he's already down) :P

Thats funny. Should've gotten my flame suit. :D

I gotta say, the 16 is one quirky little boat. Unforgiving too, I've gotten way to used to stuffing my boat to the point the front crossbar is completely under water and having the chute pull it back out.

How did this go from Wessels running out of gas to my personal record of 6 capsizes in one day......
