So where'd you get the storpedo? I want one the next time I tow through customs.

I made it from a length of 12" PVC pipe. I split it lengthwise with a circular saw using 2X4 guides, added plywood ends, put piano hinges on one side and latches on the other, laminated up some mdf and used my lathe to turn the warhead, painted the whole thing battleship gray, then made up some stencil markings.

LOL I was thinking the same thing about the customs remark. Heck I have enough trouble with interstate boarder patrol inspections.

I was towing out to a regatta in Arizona, and at an immigration checkpoint, had their dog bark at my truck.

I was completely cooperative, and let them send a dog into my pickup, pull all my camping gear out, and everything out of the cat box. After an hour and they couldn't find anything, they came over and started interrogating me. This went on for another half hour, and the dog handler told me, "Well we can't find anything, what do you do let your friends smoke out in your truck?"

"Umm. dude, I don't do drugs, nor do I have "Friends" that do drugs, and over my dead body would I let anyone "SMOKE OUT" in my truck, I have been cooperative up to this point, but you either need to charge with something so I can call a lawyer, or you need to let me go..

Well the dog wouldn't bark unless you where hiding someone, or drugs in your vehicle..

My snide remark was well then your dog needs to go back to school ( I won't repeat on the board what I actually used to refer to his dog...)

Me and the Boarder Patrol are not best of friends...

I still wonder what the dog actually hit on, or if they have those things bark on command in order to do a random search, and since I was towing a boat and a trailer they just thought they might get lucky..

I was however NOT amused.

And they wonder why they get no respect... Rodney Dangerfields they are.

I get stereotyped as Cheech all the time, so I guess it's a really good thing I wasn't there and the dog sniffed my crotch...Things could get ugly.

Did they repack your truck for you???

They actually did, which surprised me. The only thing they wouldn't do was retie the straps (Wouldn't want me to sue them if stuff started blowing out on the freeway.)
