Scarecrow,

Very nice photos!

eat-sleep-sail 8) What else is there?

Maybe just the picture, but looks like the mast is bending off quite severely under spinnaker?

Yes it is. My only excuse is that it was the first time we'd put that kite up and I was spending too much time looking at what my crew was doing and not enough keeping my own shop in order. Mainsheet should have been on much firmer :oops: .

"Eat-Sleep-Sail" is the tag line for our new sponsor www.crew.org.nz. Its an online sailing news site and forum with a kiwi focus.

[hijack-on}
Just last week at the lake, I was telling my kids, "Sailing make me hungry, eating makes me tired and sleeping make me want to sail."

Another fav line that I use for dogs and little baby anythings could be modified from eating, sleeping sh!t machines to eating, sleeping, sailing machines[hijack-off]

My best friend Mikel's Hobie-16 yesterday at our local lake, we have been sailing it together for three/four years, "Besitos". I did not want to go upside down yesterday so I sat on the Beach and shot these. Sure enough the marina boss who is a long time racer took over my spot and they flipped it over twice, tore up the jib , almost lost the boat as it took off on them after flipping back over, got bumped, bruised and scratched and had a cracking good time. :lol: The Hobie wave belongs to Dave..a client of mine who was taking his son out for the first time..Hi Dave :)

Thanks for all the forum info and encouragement to get my new/used Hobie 16 back on the water!

I found her sitting on a trailer in my neighborhood and bought her for only $300. Despite the missing sails, no rudders, stained tramp, broken jib block and rusty, undersized trailer tires, I got a great deal!

I've been sailing since I was 10 on San Francisco Bay and grew up on the Gulf Coast flying hull on a Hobie 16 since 1974.

Needless to say, after a "dry spell" of being land-locked in Atlanta since 1992 - I just had to go sailing!

Thanks again to the forum and to all you newbies - YOU CAN DO IT!

Holy Hobie,

we usually put the kayaks in the power boat, we have a island about 5 miles just to the right of that point in the back ground, anchor out just past the surf and kayak around and drop in on a few waves! the new mirage revolution surfs great! if anyone is ever in town let me know, I'm usually at the shop, and we will go play. we have a sign for the shop door that says "sorry we missed you, we are product testing today!"

My friend, Brett did this mural, his friend George took the picture. Nice "end of the day" wine-country feel to it.
