im going to be attending Jacksonville university in the fall. i would like to bring my 16 with me so i can sail. So i would like to know of a places where i could store my boat and also were the best place to launch and sail from.

i am a military dependant , i looked into Mayport but they charge $50 bucks a month. So in 6 months i would have paid more than i did for the who boat. i was hoping somebody might let me store it in their yard. i would love to sail while im at school so any help would be greatly apreciated

Nicholas

Nicholas,

Have you considered checking with your University? They may have a collegiate sailing program or sailing connections within the local community or alumni to help out a college student such as yourself.

Hey, where do launch from on Sullivan's island? When in Charleston I usually launch from Ft Moultrie, or Remley's Point.

I also want to try station 22 and 30 on Sullivan's. With station 22 it is a bit of long walk, but I think it will be OK.

I'm always looking for places in Charleston to launch and to may be keep the cat over for a few days.

i Usually launch from ft moltrie. I dont know how recent you been there but the sand dune have eroded exposing a ton of bricks they use to form them. The only safe time to launch now is at low tide.

Im looking into launch toward the end of isle of palms. Nothing will be a convient as ft moltrie though.

I sail off HHI beach in Port Royal Plantation, on the Port Royal Sound side.
