This years Catfest on Norman was the best in 3 or 4 years. Had great wind on Sat. but it died out on Sunday. It was too cold for me this past weekend, thought about kiteboarding in the wetsuit on Jordan.

I sail LKN a lot I have a hobie 21 SE I keep it on the water at my house in denver my kid has a hobie 14 turbo also on the water I usually sail between the dam and mile 5 marker. I have sailed hobies on this lake since 1971. I met my wife here at the lake on my hobie 16. I used to race a lot I have a picture with Hobie Alter at one of the races at Cowans Ford.

Gary,

I sailed on Lake Norman for years out of Ramsey Creek. The boat traffic got so bad that I now take the boat to Jordan Lake. I did join the Charlotte Hobie fleet for a while and raced once at Cowan's Ford. I just didn't care for racing. How bad was the boat traffic this year? I wondered if gas prices affected it.

The end of the lake at the dam is some pretty big water. There are always some motor boats around but there is always plenty of room
The bad days are little wind when the motor boats really stir things up. When the wind blows a lot of the motor boats go home and things get really nice. LKN does get rough sometimes it gets a little bumpy on my Hydra Sport 24 CC

Try Oak Island if you get a chance
Classic Hobie
Best launch area I have ever found South End of Island
