Has anyone used Tear-aid type A repair tape on their sails? The bead or cord in my mainsail that goes up the mast curf has separated (torn) from the sail at the bottom. I wrapped ordinary 3 oz dacron repair tape around it but it soon tore too. I've been told that Tear-aid tape has pretty high tensile strength. Anyone have any experience with this or should I just get a strip of dacron and have it sewed? I wonder if a strip of dacron with contact adhesive would work?

It usually isn't too horribly expensive to replace the bolt rope on a sail. If its a 16, being that I'm lazy, I'd just find a 2nd set of used sails.
