Hobie Artwork

I was walking around the Festival of Arts in Laguna Beach tonight looking at all the unaffordable artwork. A large watercolor of several Hobies on a beach caught my eye. As I looked closer, I thought “hey, these boats look familiar”. I looked closer yet and saw my boat in the painting! Check it out at http://www.carolynpelkeyart.com/carolynpelkeyart/boats.html.

The artist, Carolyn Pelkey, was there - she told me that this was from the Hobie 40th Anniversary Regatta in Dana Point. Her work is very detailed, almost photographic in quality. The original is selling for $3000 (any takers?), but she has prints available for $75 (8” x 10”) and up.

Thanks Roger for the heads up on that. What a fabulous job she did. Only wish I had the bucks. I think that the prints may have some real value to our class and very reasonable.
