bassie1234567 -The weather in San Diego around Thanksgiving should be okay - Just not great. If you come here you'll want to stay at Campland on Mission Bay (
www.campland.com). If one of you has a parent in the military check out Fiddlers Cove Marina on San Diego Bay.
If you have cat wheels you should consider going to San Felipe. They have extreme high and low tides, but great weather and sailing. Check with Rick Buchanan about the weather and amenities at San Felipe and Puerto Penasco that time of year. (

Northern CA - I'd stay away from the coast, but contact Richard Vilvins (
[email protected]) or Jeremy at Surf City Catamarans about the weather at Clear Lake (Will-O-Point Campground) and Whiskeytown Lake (Oak Bottom Campground) The sailing is great and both are large and beautiful lakes.
Another option is to come to Southern CA without your boat and be a tourist: Sea World, Hollywood (get free tickets to be on a TV show),Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, Legoland, Santa Monica....
I went to college in Houston, TX years ago and my wife and I went to Corpus Christi for about an hour a few years ago. I wouldn't want to spend a week there or even several hours.
San Diego; Inland Northern CA; Baja, Mexico on the Sea of Cortez; Tourist in Southern Ca......Four very good choices for Thanksgiving break.
I hope this helps!
Best of luck to all of you!
Richard
