Just wanted to pass on my expierence with purchasing a new spinnaker and snuffer for my Hobie 18. I got the spin form Whirlwind Sails. Chip is a great guy to work with. Always returned my phone calls promptly and answered my e-mails quickly. Being new to the spin world of sailing I had many questions and Chip was very patient with me and had all the answers to my questions. The workmanship is superb and the dimensions are perfect. I got a SNU-SNUFFER from Barefoot Studios Inc. Dennis was also a great guy to work. I had a custom pole I made out of a carbon windsurfer mast that is tapered and I had some concerns about the fit of the snuffer ring and Dennis worked out these issues with me promptly. The system works as smooth as butter. Deploys with ease and snuffs fast and hitch free. I also got a Snu Custom Cover from him. This cover looks great and protects the entire snuffer system including the spin from the elements when I store my boat on the beach over the weekend. Again, qudos to these guys. Get yours today don't delay! :D

I love My SNU on my Tiger. We have all but 1 spin in our division using them and they all rock. From h-18's to 20's to Tigers to a getaway to potentially a H-14 getting spun out. Dennis helps us all.

Say what?! I've got the original spinnaker for my SX and the pole to go with it. How will the Barefoot system work with my boat?

(I'll finally get Rich off my back for being a wimp about setting up the spin, then we'll have a contest to see who goes over fewer times.)

It won't without major modification due to pole diameter.

Barefoot makes one for bigger poles as well. I think its extra, but can't imagine it'd be too much. Worth it in my eyes, I've got a newer bag with the mesh bottom (sweet), the new new bags open up like a large mouth bass. They're pretty awesome.

SX chute has no dousing points sewn on and is too large to snuff on the pole. You need to get an F18 spin and throw the SX chute away, or attempt to get it recut. Once you fly a true assymetrical kite you will understand why the SX chute is useless.

What is the diameter of your pole? You should give Dennis a call at Barefoot Studios. He has snuffers that can accomadate various pole diameters. If you really want a mid-pole snuffer this is the one to have. Tell him Jim Graves sent you and I am sure he will fix you up with an excellent product at a great price!!!

You're right. New development. I had to mod one one time and am still itchy.

John you need to see the new SNU's they are slick. I have a new design prototype set up that is off the hook. Adjustable mouth set up, Custom bag length and pole position , and there's one more trick but thats staying secret till after the first race.

I love my SNU and so does the wife. Since she had to use the thing down wind I just drive, she does all the spinnaker work.

That my friends is the "New SNU Review".

I retract my retraction. Guess there were a few modified ones:

The standard SNU shell fits a 1.5" dia. pole. I haven't tooled up for a 2" dia. pole because there aren't that many requests for them.

BTW: You've had it rich for getting that 70s cartoon song stuck in my head. Now all of you can hate me too.

There is no way I'm clicking on that video clip. Nevermind the threat of an earworm, it's the flashbacks I'm afraid of.
