I am detailing my wing seats today on my H21 SE and removing the "Gluvit" epoxy waterproof sealer that I brushed on my wing support and end castings (some 10 plus years ago) to improve the seal at these parts. It dry fairly transparent but over time finally yellowed and became brittle. This product held up for many years but finally started to look like it lost it's integrity. What have other sailors done to reseal these parts on their wings?
I am OK with using Gluvit again and possible removing an end cap for the purpose of creating a slight vacuum within my wings to suck this epoxy in between any void that this thin product will flow into.
I have never been a big fan of silicon because in my limited experience it has very little adhesive quality to it but does work well if use in compression not on the surface.
Any advise or input would be nice...
Thanks,Bill 404 21 SE
