Hello everyone,
I just want to let you know for anyone who might be over there in Europe and especially in France over this week end that there is the "national hobie cat 2010" meeting & race in Britanny, in Locmariaquer.
According to the poster, it will be a meeting for all hobie cat : all ages of hobie cat, sea kayak, stand up board...
Below is the event poster which looks really nice (yes, "endless summer" inspiration, it fits perfectly to the hobie cat way of life...)
I'm sorry that I'll not be there but will search for picture of this event and add a link to them.

Too bad the poster is a rip-off of the 40th Anniversary Regatta poster, and they used the artwork without attribution - which was a condition of its use. (I am the creator of the artwork.)

Sorry to hear that, it's not fair play. You might contact Hobie Cat Europe to complain, the event is publicized on their site and it seems they are the main organizers of it.

To be fair, I received an apology from HC Europe and they promised to add the attribution to the artwork.

Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

Ha, My first thought when I saw the Hobie poster was "The Endless Summer", which is a very good movie or documentary BTW. My daughter has a Robert August long board signed by Robert August. Pretty cool. I wish I could protect the autograph. It was signed wth a permanent marker which is not TOTALLY permanent.

I hear you, I have a CFL football signed by the entire grey cup winning team from the Saskatchewan Rough Riders that some of the signatures are fading. There must be a way to protect that kind of stuff??

Good call, Jeremy. And Matt's derivative work is quite nice too.

Total sideline: The opening scene of Endless Summer was shot here in Dakar, off Ngor Island, a few miles North from our house here. Really nice spot on many levels.
