I USED POLY GLOW ON MY HOBIE CAT 21 SE IT LOOKS ALMOST NEW THE FINISH LOOKS VERY DEEP DUE TO THE 5 COATS THAT I PUT ON. THE HULLS ARE DARK BLUE AND HAVE NEVER LOOKED GREAT UNTIL THIS WEEK. POLY GLOW FINISH IS NEAR THE ORIGINAL COLOR UNDER MY OLD STATE WILDLIFE STICKER. I ALSO USED THE PRODUCT ON MY RUDDERS AND CENTERBOARDS WITH WITH SIMILAR RESULTS. I WILL KEEP ALL ADVISED ON THE LIFE OF THE FINISH. MY GEL COAT WAS TERRIBLE AND I USED THE SURF CITY CAT DEALER METHOD TO PREP THE HULLS. I WAS GOING TO USE WAX ON ONE HULL AND COMPARE BUT THE POLY GLOW LOOKED SO GREAT I DID THE WHOLE BOAT.

I ALSO USED SOME ON THE COMP TIP WITH GOOD RESULTS NOT AS GOOD AS THE HULLS BUT A LOT BETTER THAN THEY WERE.

THIS WEEK I WILL PUT PENETROL ON THE BLACK ALUMNIUM AND TAKE THE HOBIE OUT FOR A PROUD RIDE OUT ON LAKE NORMAN AND NEXT MONTH TO EDISTO BEACH S C

Got you cranked up, shouting in all caps?! CONGRATULATIONS ON THE SHINE, ADMIRAL!

One question. I am reading mixed reviews on Penetrol. It doesn't last as long as you'd expect and it's a crud magnet. That so?

Also, done some searching on coating bare aluminum. Where things have gotten nicked. Used anything on them?

Gary,
How about some photos...The gelcoat on my stars and stripe still looks great. Most sailors say that my boat looks maybe 5 years old (it is really 21 years old).I always cover my boat when I leave it outside during the season.I like to use West Marine's Pure Oceans' Crystal Wash & Shine followed by 3M's Marine Ultra Performance Paste Wax and it leaves the hulls with a high gloss, wet look finish.I am willing to try what ever others recommend too.
