Hi,
Can anyone explain why the trampoline is commonly designed with two halves and the back lacing strip? Is there function behind it, or is it just a design?

Thanks.

To pull it tight in three directions. A loose tramp = flexing boat.

You want the tamp tight enough to flex the sidebars INBOARD 1" - 1-1/2", that's what the lacing brings you.
