I have bestowed upon me a pirate nickname. It is Dolphin Striker. Among the friends I take out on my H16 we have pirate nicknames such as Jib, Superlube and Catbox. I need more fascinating pirate nicknames that are parts of the boat or some object associated with the boat. Feel free to provide and explain what each part is!

I was thinking sheave would be a good one...

My cat Hobie takes exception to you using his toilet, catbox, as a nickname.

Wicked Dick: the proper term for being dragged by your trap wire behind the boat, usually underwater (backwards for extra points) when you lose your footing (or the crew bumps you at the wrong moment).

Anchor Ball - A black ball visible in all direction display in the forward part of a vessel at anchor. "The wife" (ball & chain) (if your game that is

Anchor Watch - A member or members of the crew that keep watch and check the drift of ship. "Wife's best friend"

Athwart- Across. Transversely. Nickname for someone who is always getting in the way.

Poop-deck- Roof of cabin built in the Aft. Nickname for someone who is bald, "Shiny on top"

Gooseneck- Swivel fitting on the mast to which the boom is attached. Self explained really  Nickname for someone with an extraordinary long neck.

Spinnaker- Large lightweight triangular sail for off wind sailing. Nickname for someone who won't stop talking, full of wind !! a Havachat!!

Shrouds- Wires from the top of the mast to the side of the boat. Nickname for someone "tall and wire'ry"

Forestay- Wire leading from the near the top of the mast to the bow. Nickname for your best mate, someone who is "staunch & upright".

Foils- Collective term for centreboard and rudder. Same as above, Nickname for best mate, only they keep you on the "right path".

Baggywrinkle- Clumps of frayed rope that protect the sails from chaffing on the lines. Nickname for an "older member" of the group.

There are plenty of other names that could be used, try and Google "Sailing terms" here is one I found with a lot of sailing names/terms that could be used in jest or just sound good; http://www.sailinglinks.com/glossary.htm
