This is one of my favs as well. I love the jumps.

Question: At 1:06 the skipper appears to be "pumping" the main sheet, the sheet doesnt seem to get longer so I am not sure if he is using the ratchet. What is he doing and what equipment allows him to do it?

The sheet isn't getting longer, he doesn't have it cleated. He is letting out 8-12 in of main sheet and then bringing it back in. In theory it is supposed to release built up back pressure on the inside of the mainsail, allowing you to accelerate a little. Ive played with it some, but it wore me out after a while and I didn't notice a diffrence.
