Just wanted to thank Hobie for making my vacation to Turks and Cacos Islands that much more special - the resort we were staying at had a Wave and a Getaway and I spent the majority of my days offshore. Winds were ripping and I had a blast. Early mornings were a bit calmer and I took the opportunity to teach my niece how to sail a Cat. I've been teaching her in my Adventure Island but its difficult to share control.

The Wave was great fun when the winds picked up and I was flying on one more than riding on two. Even dumped it twice  after righting it in no time, the watersports guys were confident in my abilities and let me take the Getaway out with my bro-in-law ... I think he was more scared than excited. They didn't let anyone else take it out due to the 20+ mph winds. I did throw 5 people on the getaway one morning before it picked up for a FanDamily full of fun ... everyone loved it.

... a Splendid New Years vacation in the caribbean made all the more special thanks to Hobie

Which hotel was it? I'd love to go south and sail a Hobie!

We stayed at the Veranda - very lovely all inclusive but not inexpensive. Wife and I usually stay a bit lower on the ladder but we were with her brother and family ... food was excellent for all inclusive

Almost all the resorts on Grace Bay seemed to have at least a few Waves. I did see one other Getaway but dont know where it was out of.

When we first got there I was a bit disappointed seeing only the two boats but it didn't seem like anyone else besides me and one other guy were interested in sailing so I took advantage of it. I'd circle back every 15 min or so to see if anyone else wanted it - after the second day the watersports guy said he'd blow the airhorn instead of me having to circle back.

What was especially nice was that they really weren't limiting where you could go inside the bay - and its pretty big too !! A downwind run along the shore viewing all the resorts would take at least 10-15 min at a good clip to ... about triple that to tack back up to the start. Veranda is about midway.

I'd go back in a heartbeat
