The HCA home page has a photo of a couple of H16s with red hulls. They look new. Got me all nostalgic. Are colored hulls a factory option once again? Special order? How about colored decks on white hulls? Maybe some colored hulls and retro sail colors would entice some of us nostalgic old farts, maybe some young ones too, to buy some boats. Flamer, Tequila Sunrise, Carumba, Cat Fever, striped jibs that matched the mains, those were the days . . . That new Sea-Brees (Saints fan) would look awsome on set of yellow hulls.

Does anyone think that these red boats will fade to a "pleasant" pink hue in 20 0r 30 years?
Sorry ,I am just being mischievous. Those red boats look real nice.

I am wanting a set of new Hobie sails for my 30 year old white hull 16 that are all orange just like the old Orange Crusher sails. Is that color sail available from Hobie sail loft or would they sub it out to Whirlwind Sails as a custom sail?I guess it really would matter as long as they have the Hobie stamp of approval.Does Hobie offer any popular retro sail color pattern?
Perhaps they should for us die hard old timers :D ...............Bill 404 21SE

I just don't know if the sail pattern 'Flamer' would be a hot selling in these PC times........

No... no orange cloth available.

Fyi... sails made by Whirlwind are not class legal. There is no "Hobie stamp or approval" on those.
