I have an '84 H16 with Original Tsunami sails and according to "The Ultimate Sail Pattern Guide", my cat along with several others is shown with black rudders. Was this standard on some models as shown or just for the guide? Anyone have there cat set up this way please post some pics.

Thanks.

EPO (black) rudders were an additional cost option on '84 boats.

We also had Black (PCG) plastic blades for many years.

Thank you both for the info, I was thinking of getting the boat back to the original look.

I just sanded down and spray painted my black EPO rudders with a gloss black paint. It took several cans of paint but they are looking much better and are now protected from further UV damage. I have seen rudders painted in several colors even two tone with a different color below the waterline.

I too have an '84. Mine are white (plastic I assume). Fairly certain these are factory. As Matt mentioned, I seen this year with both black and white. These suckers are heavy but, very forgiven in regards to dings-easy to keep clean/sand. Look like new after all these years.
I'm "pic posting challenged". Can't seem to post a pic even with clear instructions. :?

Those would be the stock Lexan rudders - heavy, durable and very flexible.

Thanks Matt.
They did not seem to be fiberglass. Assumed plastic.
