Not anymore... no launching except in an area along Del Mar.

There is very little beach in Cardiff. I use to sail there too. Drive right down and launch. No way now.

mhollins - I believe we can still launch at La Jolla Shores. Contact the San Diego Lifeguards at (619)221-8899 or e-mail at [email protected]

Lake Vale??? I'm not sure. But, Lake Hodges, Lower Otay, El Capitan are all fairly large lakes in San Diego. Sailing (including catamaran sailing) is allowed on our city lakes. For more information on recreational opportunities on our city lakes contact: [email protected]

Best places to launch in San Diego - Mission Bay - DeAnza, Fiesta Island, Santa Clara, and for a few dollars Campland By The Bay. San Diego Bay - Bayside Park in Chula Vista. If you have military or commisary priveleges check out Fiddler's Cove Marina on the Strand (Coronado). They also have a small, inexpensive yacht club.

Good Luck!
Richard
