Beginner interested in Hobie Cats (getaway?) for gunkholing

I'm such a beginner I haven't even taken sailing lessons yet! My lessons start on June 9th and I'm absolutely thrilled! My primary interest in learning to sail is to explore the Chesapeake Bay using small catamarans.

To do this, I'm looking for a boat (have primarily been checking out the Getaway) that is affordable, durable, and has enough space to store some camping supplies for a weekend trip (and bring 1 or 2 other people with me). I know very little about sailing so far and am a year or so away from purchasing a boat on my own, but what can I say, I'm anxious to get this all figured out so I know how much money I need to save up.
