Have any of you guys done long crossings simillar to this one?
No big open water crossings... about 20 miles we did at most. We did do a 70-75 mile leg on one day but only a mile or two out.
Add to your list a good old fashion compass, a hand pump salt water desalinator (just in case) and a personal EPIRB.
I'd bring a few days food and water... again, just in case.
70 miles shouldn't take you more than 5-6 hours if you indeed have a beam reach on moderate wind... of course wind and WAVES can be very different just a few miles out...
