My H-18SX (1997, but new to me last month) has a turtle bag for the spi. Who out there also uses a turtle bag? It seems like it is old technology, but I want to learn how to use it, before dropping the $450US for a snuffer.

Are there any turtle bag users out there? How did you make it work? THANKS

You can get a snuffer system used for less than $450. Most of the Tigers have gone away from the endpole systems and will sell them cheap. I got mine with the bag for $250. I saw a system the other day with a carbon head for $300 on cat-a-list.com, I think. A 12' pole will give you the right pocket if you have your chute recut and have retrieval points made into it. The SX chute is an old shape that was never made for snuffer use. It can be bag launched but is a bear to work with. Try it from the deck a few times and then ride a boat with a snuff system and see what you like best. I think you will migrate to a snuff system quickly.
