I have a 2006 Getaway with the new ezelock rudders, however after some 7 seasons of sailing the plastic rudder castings have "sprung" if I tighten the side bolt tight enough so the plastic knobbie pieces will lock in the rudder blade then it is too tight to raise or lower the rudder. Do you think that it would be possible to soften up the plastic by putting in the oven for a while, then hold the open end slightly closed till they cool?

Likely due to the rudders being left partially down? That spreads the housing. We include the pin to insert in the rudder and housing to hold the rudder up and relieve housing spread.

Thanks for that Matt but I didn't answer my original question about softening them up in the oven.

No answer because I don't know. Deferring to others who may have that experience.
