Can somebody please tell me HOW TO embed a pic in my post?

For the life of me I cannot get any of the Pic links (Img or URL) to embed a photo in any of my posts. My pics are in Google Photos and Drive.

Thanks for the help.

Doesn't work for pics from Google photos or drive to embed in post, but thanks for the reply.

When I am in a hurry, I just download the pictures to tinypic.com. Very easy to use, just upload the photo from your computer and it generates the image link with the correct syntax for the Hobie forum. Copy and past the IMG URL brackets and all, into your post, and your done.

I pretty much live in the Apple Ecosystem so I am not super familiar with Google Drive, but I am able to upload photos from iCloud (Apple Cloud Storage) to tinypic without issue.

I used to use http://www.Photobucket.com, until they started wanting to charge.

Now I use the free host https://imgur.com. Click on one of your saved images on the site, then located on the right side use: BBCode (message boards & forums) ,click on "Copy" and then "Paste" the imgur link into your Hobie post. It is already formated so you do not need to do anything else.

Best thing to do in a vBulletin/phpBB forum: use the BB code. It has a bit of the look and feel of HTML, but today most photo-hosting services (flickr, picasa, photobucket and a tousand others) allow you to grab the BB code for different sizes of each photo and simply copy it into any forum message you are working on.

The code looks like this

Code:
[url=https://flic.kr/p/6bQWMp][img]https://c2.staticflickr.com/4/3589/3404498465_d14e1bfdef_o.jpg[/img][/url][url=https://flic.kr/p/6bQWMp]hobie_cat[/url] by [url=https://www.flickr.com/photos/stefanschmitz/]Stefan Schmitz[/url], auf Flickr

and does that

now you MIGHT not want to publish the entire URL, the what- and whereabouts, so you CAN shorten the code and cut the description off. Therefor you just suppress the commenting part in the BB Code until only the important part is left (open and close of the first two brackets)

Code:
[url=https://flic.kr/p/6bQWMp][img]https://c2.staticflickr.com/4/3589/3404498465_d14e1bfdef_o.jpg[/img][/url]

finally the picture now looks like this

Way better without the footnote, isn't it?

If you ask yourself, what that "auf" may be and stuff ... I'm German, working on a Linux-System in German language here in France, where I live for the last 20 years...
