Like the question asks ... whats faster in an upwind, down wind type regatta situation. A Laser Vanguard or a Hobie 16?

I think any cat other than a Aqua Cat will beat a laser.

My wife and I screamed past lasers on our Getaway. No trap, wing seats and no sweat.
