My mate Allan filmed me preparing our lunch the other day, so I thought I'd edit it together to make a 'Kayak Cooking Class' video. Look, I'm the first to admit, I'm no chief. Most probably just a basic cook like yourselves but by simplifying and doing some pre-work at home, a decent meal like this, as you will see, is really so simple.
Must have smelt good. Even the uninvited Australian wildlife join in.

When I recently met Slaughter out on Lake Macquarie, I was very impressed when he didn't make any negative comments when we sat down to lunch. He seemed to produce a multi-course lunch, and mercifully allowed me to open my Up-n-Go liquid cereal/milk carton and drink my "lunch" through a straw without a murmur!

I will not get caught again, and will ensure that I can produce at least an entree, main course and desert, or maybe take my Cobb cooker on the TI and roast a chicken while sailing!

I think Josh (Yakass) did this on one of his trips on one of the northern NSW rivers. Towed the Cobb on an inner tube type setup. Slow cooked roast lamb and veggies.

Thanks Tom. The wallaby and goanna were a bonus.

Truth is Tony, I almost went light and took the same as you. Funny you should say that because I was just thinking of the most efficient way to have a baked dinner on a kayak trip. To do it properly with the gravy and the yorkshire puds is a pretty challenging task :?:

I remember that post CGM. I think hollgi was on that trip ?

3 of us recently did a 3 day trip down a Hunter Valley river. One looked after all the breakfasts for all 3 of us, I looked after all the lunches and one looked after the dinners. As long as there are no real dietary requirements, it's a far more efficient way of doing things. We took smaller kayaks with absolutely no spare room, and this method of food sharing and cooking really saves heaps of space.
