Hey guys,
I'm freshening up the 16 and want some advice on refinishing rudders. The sun has damaged the rudders down to the mat cloth. My idea was to sand the rudders just to get to a consistent level of degradation then paint on polyester (or epoxy?) fiberglass resin as you would do the final finish on a surfboard. The thought is that if I build up a bit of resin I could sand down to very smooth surfaces.
The previous owner had repainted them and that doesn't seem to be the ticket.
