Hey Bob, wish I'd seen this post when I went TDY to Eglin about a year ago! Heh.
Anyway, on my H16 I usually come up close-hauled before trying to tack, but on the 14 now (after the 2nd sail, today) I'm starting to try tacking from a close reach so that I've got more speed going in. On this lake there aren't much in the way of waves to "tack over," so the hint I read in another thread about that doesn't help much. I guess the idea of sheeting in tight while heading up, then dumping the main at head-to-wind sounds like a good plan... Any other tips y'all might have would be great!!
