Great day out on Sunday. Thanks very much to The Sailing Scene for organising the trip.
Saturday was the wettest April day in 10 years. However Sunday, despite a few grey clouds, was reasonably warm with gentle winds. More than enough to move us along without too much pedalling.
After egg and bacon breakfast on the foreshore at Balmoral we set sail out of Middle Harbour and around Middle Head, dodging a few ferries and into Sydney Harbour proper.
After a reaching Rose Bay Kerli took the tinny up to the sailing club looking for stragglers. With none found the fleet rounded Shark Island and made for Watson's Bay for lunch on the beach. Usual questions from bystanders but this time we could just point people to the The Sailing Scene guys. After a bit of a feed and coffee we headed off again toward Manly Harbour where Kerli had parked himself as a navigation mark. Couple of us went for a small play in the swell rolling in from the ocean between the heads then made for Balmoral Beach again.
