Hiyas
You can surely tell when Christmas is near when Costco puts away their summer toys and starts selling LED Christmas lights and fake Xmas trees.

Just picked up a new toy today (used, good condition, rental Ocean Kayak, 11.5 foot combo SOT kayak and SUP (Nalu). At 40 lbs I doubt I would ever strap it on the akas unless I'm desperate. (My 2 Sevylor Samoa inflatable SUPs weigh 22.5 lbs each and balance the boat, when company is here)

Of course we are going to mod this puppy with a V shaped Downwind sail and a rivet gun with a Scotty mount, which the sail is designed for).

The optional seat was $65 which still makes this a great deal.

Remember, as soon as Labor Day rolls around, a lot of dealers sell their demos and or Rental fleet at a stiff discount.

Look around, you'd be surprised what is available out there (forget Craigs List), support your local Hobie Dealer whenever you can). Your Dealer will not use your address to check out your home to see if it's unsecured enough to allow a Break and Enter.

(Craigs List, or other online private sale services... possibly excempting EBay), who knows the history of the item you're buying: If it's 'Hot' and the Police traces the product to you, you not only will lose your 'deal'; you may also get a charge of 'Possession of Stolen Property'...(in certain States that can get you serious jail time, depending on the value of the stolen property value)

It is a given (considering the choices listed above), no biz from you, maybe no local dealer next year to have as a valid support system...and that would suck for everyone.

Remember if your Dealer specializes in Water Toys, that Dealer has a very short season along both sides of the 49th Parallel to make his money to keep the business afloat for the entire year. (However most Hobie Dealers also are fully equipped Outdoor Supply Stores.

Alberni Outpost, Nanaimo BC is my local Hobie Dealer that I gladly support, due to their fair prices and exceptional customer service.

Have a great Hobie Day 8)
