My wife and i must have left our brains at the launch the first time we sailed this year. We pedaled away from the dock. The next step should have been to swing the Amas out and lock them in place. Instead, we unfurled the sail and slowly toppled over. We are both lightweights and the mast was stuck in the mud, so it was a struggle to right it. When we finally were upright, we realized that the front hatch hadn't been secured and the hull had taken in a lot of water. This is why pilots have checklists!
