Your 2015 PA-14, had the very latest Mirage Drive until this year, when Hobie introduced the MirageDrive 180.
2015 saw 2 drive versions with 2 different part numbers, as I said. The regular mirage owned by the OP cannot be sold to a user of 2015 (or any year?) Hobie inflatable unless they cut off the guide tabs. The inflatable drive CAN be used on a PA tho.
It is a well-mating issue. The hard plastic yaks were given a "training wheels" guide to prevent the drive being installed crooked, while Hobie trusts inflatable users to do it right without the guide (hard to implement in rubber?).
my 2012 V2 drives have a removable alignment pin that is friction fit into the base and easy to remove with a leatherman, no need to cut anything in order to use them in my i11s. I agree with the "training wheels" term, I found no need to reinstall the pin when I use the drives in my Oasis.
