 Warning - If you are going to spend well over $200.00 for a Tandem Island cover I suggest you avoid the Danuu Stumpy cover. After less than 18 months of careful use on my 2015 Hobie TI stored on a trailer in a dry slip the cover is worthless. I virtually can not touch the material without it tearing or puncturing. The company refused to replace it stating the One Year Warranty had been exceeded. Even though all the company literature indicates this cover provides "strong, heavy duty UV protection". I just did more research and purchased a "Heavy Duty Silver Poly Tarp" 10-mil thick with 100% UV protection from KOTAP. The size is ideal 6' x 20' with reinforced grommets every 18" inches. The reviews indicate a reasonable 2-3 year life expectancy.

Now the math... The Danuu cover, $219.00 for 18 months use. The KOTAP tarp, $24.00 for predicted 36 month use. If all works well, I could have new covers every 2-3 years for the rest of my life and still not equal the price of the inferior Danuu cover.

Buyer Beware ! I could not believe that Hobie appears to be offering a TI cover in the accessory catalogue manufactured by Danuu.

Hope this helps some avoid the mistake I made with the purchase. I love my Tandem Island and hope the new cover protects it properly so that I get many years of use. Hobie has always been my choice for durability and quality manufacturing.

Experiences with covers vary. Especially when considering extreme UV and possibly the constant movement caused by winds in unprotected storage 24-7.

We have had very good response to the Danuu brand covers for many years now.

Note: the AI and TI custom covers we have are not their standard material, but are a heavier cloth. The custom fit helps reduce the wear caused by wind movement "flutter" of the material that can also help break materials down.

UPDATE - Danuu did respond to the issue. They replaced the Stumpy Cover with a new one. They also advised me that the product they provide to Hobie is at least twice the weight with added durability. I am going to cover the new cover with a protective tarp during the hottest summer months to try to get added life out of it. Once this one deteriorates, I'll move onto the better Hobie cover.
