Apparently normal users can't start real polls.. so here is my fake one. :)

I hear lots of people say that they've sailed in the buff.. but I want to really know... have you?

I have never sailed in the buff, but I have driven my ski boat in the buff.. it was fun! I'd really like to sail in the buff sometime.. I bet it's a hoot!

Sadly I have, I camped out on the local lake alot this summer with "friends", on one of these trips it came up the sailing at night in the buff would be fun, so I hooked up my running lights, (cheap battery powered ones from walmart) stripped down and we headed out for a nice peaceful cruise around the lake in about 10 mph winds.

It was very nice but watch for rope burn, and other hazards!!

I feel bad being the first to reply but I also am proud!

"Sail Naked" was the Sailing Club motto when I was in college. Yeah, we did that.

Crew topless in appropriate seas . Does bottomless for about 5 minutes count?

LOL... I'd say 5 minutes of bottomless probably counts.

I never thought about the sailing at night thing... My boss who owned a cat for 10 years said he used to sail naked all the time and at night, but I'm assuming this is when he went bareboating in the keys with his wife. In tropical areas, it's probably um... more accepted? I live in the prudish midwest... We don't have nude beaches or anything like that around here..

I remember being on a remote beach on Kauai when I was young and there were some people sunbathing in the nude way down the beach a ways... but thats as close as I've ever gotten to a nude beach.

Could I get a ticket for indecent exposure if I were to get caught on the lake in the buff? It's unlikely, I'd probably go out a ways prior to shedding my bottoms... but I bet it's a lot of fun!

Christening the boat... NICE!

I used to have crew that would come sailing only because she could sunbathe topless without too many people around.

I tried to convince the wife it was a good idea for her to do the same... no go on that one.

my crew often sails topless, on the less windy days and has given a few fishermen a nice view or two. and once on a mid week sail we both went ala buff sailing, we made two long reaches across the biggest part of the lake and then re covered just in case. heheh was a blast

alright... I've got to bring this one back because I was talking to a female aquaintance about it. ;0)

Does anyone remember the name of the model that was in a late 1970's Playboy... sailing naked on a Hobie 16? I can't for the life of me think of her name, and I can't find anything searching online. I thought someone had mentioned it in this thread, but it's not here anymore...

I believe it was Bo Derek. I could be wrong though. I do believe that those pictures have floated around this site and thebeachcats.com

you're right, it was Bo Derek. I did find one pic via google and thebeachcats, but it's not the one of her flying the hull... that's the one i'm looking for.
