I've been on this board for quite a while and never visited the "places to sail" section of this forum, thinking that it would not be useful.

But wait! This is BRILLIANT...and I just wanted to slap it up here for a moment for those other guys like me that never noticed this:

From Bob Merrick:

I've started a Google Map of places to launch your catamaran.
Anyone can add a location by logging in with a Google Mail (G-Mail) account.

Add your favorite spots to the map.

This map has made me feel stupid more than once. I have added to other Frapper maps but cannot figure out how to add a location to this one, and yes I am logged in.

Yes, I had to "dink" with it a bit to figure it out - Depending on how it loads in your browser, either click on "collaborate", then "edit", OR if the "edit" button is already available, click that.

Then zoom and scroll the map to the location that you want to add, and click on the blue "push pin" icon. Your cursor will become a push pin. Place it over the location on the map, then click.

The pin will stick in the map and a dialog box will apear with a default title (something like "pin number 324").

Change the title to something a little more useful, and add descriptive text to the dialogue box.

Just did it myself.

Register / login.

Edit...

Right click a spot to add and "add a placemark"

Type the description.

"Save" / "Done"
